training with Wulvern
At Wulvern, we take a structured approach to training and development, and as well as delivering training to enable people to be more effective in their jobs we also train to enable staff to develop both personally and professionaly. For example, we have a number of employees who have just started studying – either through attending college or via distance learning – for a professional qualification, such as those organised by the Chartered Institute of Housing. We also have a number of staff studying for a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) in their own area of work.
We have also recruited a number of people since our transfer from Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council (CNBC) who have undertaken NVQs in Electrical Engineering; Plumbing and Joinery. Whilst they were attending day release at college, we ensure that the work they are getting involved in on a day to day basis, is linked to their NVQ, allowing them to put into practice what they have learned.
In addition to the professional qualifications we support, we also encourage our employees to consider their development needs and courses which can help them work better in their roles. For example, we have arranged courses for employees on Personal Effectiveness, Assertiveness, Time Management and Minute Taking, plus many more!
We're committed to the training and development of people living within the community we serve, and actively encourage people to apply for positions to work for Wulvern wherever possible.
