Free stop smoking sessions are on offer throughout next week for smokers determined to kick the habit for good.
The sessions are being held in Crewe, Nantwich and Audlem to give people the chance to quit smoking with help from health experts and nicotine products such as gum, lozenges, nasal sprays, inhalators or patches.
The drop-in sessions are being run by local affordable housing provider, Wulvern and take place as follows:-
Monday 8th March – The Community Bungalow, Sherborne Road, Crewe
Tuesday 9th March – Mountbatten Court, Alton Street, Crewe
Wednesday 10th March – Thornton House, Audlem
Thursday 11th March – Nantwich Market
Friday 12th March – Crewe Library
Saturday 13th March – Crewe Market
The sessions will run from 10am-12noon and there is no need to make an appointment.
“There has never been a better time for people to make the decision to quit the habit and I would urge anyone considering giving up to come along and seek help and advice from the advisers” said Wulvern’s Healthy, Wealthy and Wise Co-ordinator, Rachel Parker.
Evidence shows that people are up to four times more likely to stop smoking if they get specialist help and support compared to going it alone.
Smoking is the single greatest cause of preventable illness and premature death in Cheshire East.
