Independent Living Manager

Crewe

Salary: c £50,000 + pension

As our new Independent Living Manager you won’t just share this goal, you’ll be passionate about it !

This role needs someone who can provide exceptional leadership to the Independent Living department, to ensure that the 5A rated, value for money service continues to support the needs and aspirations of older and vulnerable people.

You will be helping to formulate and implement innovative strategies to respond to the challenging operating environment and seeking new opportunities to develop our existing services and secure funding. You will need to develop effective partnerships and stakeholder relationships at a senior level with both partner agencies and the local authority.

Working at a senior level you will be a member of our Operations Management Team and will play a key part in running the business.

Educated to degree level (or equivalent) with substantial leadership experience, you must also have significant experience of working within an older person’s service (in both Extra Care and Supported Living). Also essential is a specialist knowledge of supporting people and other relevant regulation. You will have excellent budgetary and resource management skills with experience of writing reports and presenting at a senior level.

To thrive in this role you will need a strong commercial acumen with experience of evaluating, formulating and delivering strategic plans with a proven track record in building strong stakeholder relationships with the ability to negotiate and influence at a senior level. A knowledge or experience of health or social care would also be beneficial.

Asset & Investment Manager

£45,000 + car allowance + pension

Looking to develop your career in property? This newly created senior role, reporting directly to the Executive Director (Customer & Homes), offers an opportunity for you to develop your leadership skills as well as deliver top quality asset management services to Wulvern’s customers. You will be a member of the Operational Management Team and play a key role in running the business through our integrated performance management model, leading our key service areas.

Wulvern is a growing organisation and a lead development partner, having secured a private finance package from a range of investors to support our significant new homes programme. We have transformed services in neighbourhoods, with our team of Neighbourhood Workers getting close to customers and enriching our customer and property database. We are looking for someone who can join our management team, is passionate about the quality of our assets and wants to deliver brilliant social housing across Cheshire.

You will have strong, commercial acumen with a proven track record of delivering improvement programmes, preferably through both in-house delivery teams and via external contracts. You will be responsible for producing relevant strategies and delivery plans, working in a framework of delegated financial controls. You will win the respect of key internal and external stakeholders through your professional and knowledgeable approach. This is an opportunity to make your mark and deliver brilliant asset management and investment services against a significant business plan provision.

As well as excellent budgetary, project management and resource management skills, you are likely to have a professional qualification (RICS, CIH or equivalent).

We are looking for two Asset and Investment Team Leaders one who will each be responsible for leading and managing a team engaged in the delivery of Wulvern’s planned and cyclical activities.

You will lead your team in the relevant planning, preparation and delivery of schemes and programmes of installation/replacement, cyclical and reactive maintenance in either general buildings or heating, mechanical and electrical works. The emphasis will be on providing a brilliant service to customers, best value for money and ensuring full compliance with all formal regulations, British Standards and industry good practice.

The roles will work together within our Asset and Investment Teams to ensure that all work activities are co-ordinated in an efficient and effective way whilst assisting with the development and delivery of Wulvern’s Asset Investment Strategy. You will lead, motivate and manage staff, taking responsibility for all aspects of line management ensuring that your team consistently work to the required standards and that they actively embrace Wulvern’s values and behaviours.

To be successful in these roles you must have a relevant, recognised Building/Technical/Management qualification at least to Diploma level. A minimum of five years’ experience within a programme and contracts environment and three years leadership experience. You will also need an excellent working knowledge of budget and resource management, experience of formulating and evaluating plans in order to deliver external services commercially with a good working knowledge of housing.

Home Support Advisor

Working in this new team you will become part of a team of homes experts who will support the delivery of a brilliant planned, cyclical, responsive repairs and empty homes services.

You will be working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an excellent customer service over the phone and face to face resolving any queries right first time.  You will also provide effective administrative support to the property services team, which will include monitoring and coordinating compliance in our homes

To be successful in this role you must have great communications skills both verbal and written and be able to demonstrate your experience in organising, administering and co-ordinating a diverse range of services with both internal and external customers.  You will also be IT literate and experienced in using all of the Microsoft Office packages plus have a minimum of GCSEs Grade C or equivalent in Maths and English.  If you have previous housing  or property services experience that would be brilliant but this is not essential to be a success in this role
