The Healthy, Wealthy and Wise scheme, funded by The Big Lottery Fund, has helped thousands of elderly people across south Cheshire to improve their health, independence and quality of life through activities and events designed to keep them physically and mentally active.

The service offers advice on diet along with exercise classes to encourage an active, healthy lifestyle and promote mental wellbeing. There is also help available for those who want to stop smoking, providing support and guidance to encourage them to stop.

The service also offers a full programme of organized social activities, encouraging older customers to engage in activities, avoiding isolation and improving their confidence.

Working in partnership with Crewe and Nantwich Citizens Advice Bureau, the scheme also provides advice on the benefits available to older people, many of which they are often unaware they are entitled to. The CAB offers a confidential free benefits check to anyone over 60, to see if they are entitled to benefits such as pension credit, housing benefit, attendance allowance or even a free TV Licence! So far over £2million has been reclaimed for people in the local area and their quality of life has improved.
